US. Work Visa
Do you know about the work visa in USA?
A work visa may be obtained prior to entry into the United States or the applicant may change status after entering the United States on a different visa. Changing status from F-1 Student Visa to H-1B Work Visa is quite common among international college students. H-2B Work Visas are available to workers without higher education, E-3 Work Visas are only for Australian citizens, and H-3 Trainee Visas are available for short-term training at American companies.

Work Visa (H1B Visa)
H1B: It is employment based, non-immigrant visa category for temporary workers. H1b is an employer sponsored visa category i.e. an employer must offer a job and apply for your H1 visa petition with US immigration dept. This approved petition is a work permit allows you to get visa stamp and work in USA for that employer.Eligibility?
H1B is issued to a specialty occupation, requires theoretical and practical application of a body of specialized knowledge along with at least a bachelors degree or its equivalent.
Total Quota:-
Currently H1B Total Quota is 65,000. Note: H1 quota is over for this year; new Quota will be available from April 2006 for yr. 2006.

There is an additional 20,000 quota for qualified people who have done there Master degree from USA. This quota is independent and additional to general 65,000 quotas.
